"St. Peter's Lutheran Church Missouri Synod To the glory of the Triune God and in memory of our forefathers who established this German Lutheran congregation on April 3, 1854 and to those following who, by the grace of God, preserved for us and our children the heritage of the pure Word of God, and who through many hardships cleared land and settled this part of Middleton Township. This historic plaque is erected on the site of the first Missouri Synod Lutheran Church in Canada, on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of its founding. Donated by Howard and Helena Bilger, June 1979."
