He enlisted in Nov 1915 with the 125th Battalion at Brantford, where he was then employed by the Brantford Expositor. Went overseas Aug 1916, was slightly wounded at the Battle of Vimy Ridge, and for a second time on 6 Aug 1918 [SR19180926p1] -- Pte. James Cooper, a native of Port Dover, has been thrice wounded. After learning the printing trade at the Maple Leaf office, he was an employee of the Grand Trunk at Stratford. and we believe, subsequently removed to Brantford [SR19180926p5]
