Simcoe, 29 Sep 1921 -- Rosy, the five-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Cronk of Windham Street, died at one o'clock yesterday from burns received in the morning when her clothes caught fire while the unfortunate child was playing with matches.

Her mother was visiting with a neighbor at the time. Jarvis Cooper, who lives opposite the Cronk home on the same street, was attracted by the cries of the child. He ran across with a quilt and smothered out the flames, but the little one was already terribly burned.

Physicians were summoned without delay but from the first they had little hope that the child would recover.
