West -- Mr. and Mrs. W.  H. West's son, Private J. W. West, arrived home in Houghton from overseas Saturday on a well-earned furlough. He has seen much active service at the front and is the first soldier to return to this section. He enlisted with the 133rd Battalion just two years ago. He was through the battle of Vimy Ridge and saw his cousins, Arthur and Will West fall [SR19180516p2] [Compiler's Comment: we found no corresponding son on the 1901 census. 
Nor did we find a corresponding WWI Attestation Paper.
