Rammage, Henry (1775-1861) came from Dunferline, Fife County, Scotland to Canada and married Jane Russell. They lived at Amherstburg, Essex County. then Trafalgar Township, Halton County. They settled in Windham Township by 1842. Includes three generations of descendants

Rapelje, Abraham A. (1772-1859) went with his parents from Long Island, New York to New Brunswick following the American Revolution. He came to Woodhouse Township in 1800 and married Sarah Wyckoff. Includes three generations of descendants 

Rayment, Roswell (c. 1800-) came from New York and with his wife Nancy settled in Townsend Township by 1850. They subsequently lived in Michigan. Includes children and grandchildren

Raymond, William (1773-1856) lived in Massachusetts then Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and next at Buffalo, New York then came to Woodhouse Township about 1800. About 1812, he settled in Bayham Township, Elgin County. In 1842, he settled finally in Houghton Township. Includes three generations of descendants

Reagh, Joseph (c. 1776-) and wife Ann came from Halifax, Nova Scotia and settled in Middleton Township by 1825. Includes children and grandchildren [First released Jan 2004]

Redker, William (c. 1801-) came from Pennsylvania and with his wife Elizabeth Glover settled in Waterford Townsend Twp. in 1826. Includes children and grandchildren

Redpath, William (c. 1819-) and his wife Agnes Gray settled in Silver Hill, Charlotteville Township in 1848. William’s brother-in-law Andrew Halliday (c. 1815-1869) and his wife Helen Redpath joined them at Silver Hill. Includes three generations of descendants

Reid, James (c. 1800-1874) and his wife Jennet emigrated from Scotland to New York then came to Ontario in 1831. They settled at Lynedoch, Charlotteville Township, in the 1840s. Includes three generations of descent

Reid, Robert (1802-1887) and William Reid (1812-) came to Canada from Cavan County, Ireland with their families in 1840 and settled in Walsingham Township, Norfolk County. Includes three generations of descendants

Reynolds, Henry Thomas (1816-1868) and his wife Levena Beak came from Wiltshire, England to Woodhouse Township about 1844. Includes ancestors, children and grandchildren

Probable all brothers Renner, John (c. 1805- ), Adam Renner (c. 1815- ), William Renner (c. 1818-1870) and Jacob Renner (1819-1859) lived at Hartford, Townsend Township. Includes children and grandchildren

Rice, Maiden (c. 1735-1810/11) and her children were abducted from their Virginia home by Indians at the end of the American Revolution and taken to Fort Detroit. Her first husband was killed in the Indian raid and she remarried at Detroit to John Stacy who took her to Niagara and then to Charlotteville Township in 1790. Includes children and grandchildren 

Rice, Jesse (c. 1770) settled in Townsend Township in 1796. Includes four generations of descendants and others of this surname in Townsend whose connection is not known. 

Richardson, Richard (c. 1819-1900) came from England about 1845 and married Louisa Munroe. Richard was a blacksmith at Port Rowan, Walsingham Township. Includes children and grandchildren

Riddell, Robert (c. 1808-1886) and four brothers and one sister came from Scotland to Port Dover, Woodhouse Township in 1844. Includes children and grandchildren [First released May 2004]

Risch, John Philip (c. 1750) came to America with the German troops under the British Army during the American Revolution. He married Martha and came to Woodhouse Township in 1796. One page biography 

Robertson, William (1819-1886) and his wife Sarah Averill lived in Mount Pleasant, Brant County, Upper Canada. Includes three generations of descendants in Brant and Norfolk counties and elsewhere

Robinson, Cuthbert (c. 1744-1829) and his wife Hannah Saddler came from Yorkshire, England to New Jersey about 1772. During the American Revolution, Cuthbert supported the British cause. He came to Townsend Township with his son William in 1805 and they were followed by another son George about 1820. Includes four generations of descendants

Robinson, Sheldon George (c. 1787- ) and his wife Mary brought their family from England to Ontario about 1845 and settled in Walsingham Township. Includes children and grandchildren

Rogers/Rodgers, Frances (c. 1809- ) widow of Andrew Rogers/Rodgers moved with her family from Gainsborough Township, Welland County to Walsingham Township by 1861. Includes three generations of descendants

Orrin Rogers (1803-1891) came from Chenango County, New York to Townsend township, Norfolk County in 1823. He married Rachel Smith, then Hannah Baker. Includes children and grandchildren

Rouse, Oliver C. (1768-1822) came from New York to West Oxford Township, Oxford County by about 1808 then settled at Boston, Townsend Township about 1812. Includes three generations of descendants.

Rusling, William (1791-1872) came with his parents from Hull, Yorkshire, England to Newburgh, Warren County, New Jersey in 1795. He came to Norfolk County about 1815 and married Charity Jane Culver, daughter of Norfolk pioneer William Culver. Includes ancestry and three generations of descendants

Russell, James (c. 1755) came from Fifeshire, Scotland to America in 1776 and in that year joined the Royal Navy at Staten Island. He served throughout the American Revolution and lived afterwards in Nova Scotia then came to Upper Canada in 1793. He settled in Charlotteville Township in 1795. One page biography

Ryerse, Samuel (1752-1812) lived at Pequannock, New Jersey during colonial times then joined the New Jersey Volunteers during the American Revolution rising to the rank of Captain. Following the war, he went in the 1783 Loyalist exodus of New York to New Brunswick then returned to New York. He brought his family to Woodhouse Township in 1795. Ryerson, Joseph (1761-1854) younger brother of Samuel Ryerse (above), served as a Lieutenant in the Prince of Wales American Regiment during the American Revolution and went in the 1783 Loyalist exodus of New York to New Brunswick.
