Ripple -- Private Vincent Ripple of 133rd Battalion, is son of Dr. and Mrs. [Ripple], lately of Davenport, Iowa, now of Niagara Falls. Vincent's mother is sister of Mrs. J. A. Calder [SR19170628p1] -- Private Vincent Ripple (photo), this young soldier is a nephew of Mrs. J. A. Calder of Simcoe. His home is in the United States. Wanting to go to war, at his aunt's suggestion, he came to Simcoe and enlisted with the 133rd [SR19170607p9]

Calder, from hospital in France, saying he is currently blind and will be heading home shortly.
