Daniel
is said to have been the first white child born in Walsingham Township. At
18 in 1814, he fought beside his father at the Battle of Lundy's
Lane. He and Hannah farmed in Middleton Township until 1827. He was
a Charlotteville farmer and a Major in the local miltia. He and
Hannah retired to Simcoe, then moved to St. Williams to be near his
namesake and other children still living in Norfolk.
