Ellen Hayne Smith "Was born in London, England, second daughter of John and Deborah Hayne of Exmouth, Devonshire County. At the age of four she came with her parents to America. And after six years in Cleveland and nine in Hamilton, they settled on 'Rose Hill' Farm, in Charlotteville. And here, on Aug. 25th, 1872, she was married to Arthur Wellesley Smith, then beginning the practice of dentistry at Cayuga." |
