H. L. Selby
"Manager of the Bank of Hamilton.
"Is one of the real Norfolk 'Old Boys,' having been born and raised on his parents' farm in Charlotteville Township, near Vittoria.  He attended Simcoe High School and entered the Simcoe branch of the Bank of Hamilton in December, 1899. His services were required at Port Rowan, Jarvis and finally Hagersville, where he opened and managed the branch bank for seven years. Returning to Simcoe in 1912, he has been local manager to the present time, with the exception of three years' overseas service, as Captain in the 133rd Batt. 'Norfolk's Own,' and later in the R.C.H.A.  Mr. Selby is an enthusiastic horseman and has been active in the athletic life of the town."
