Circa 1924 Citizen of Simcoe, Ontario

Next >

B. B. Baillie Mayor B. B. Baillie
"Simcoe's First Citizen was born in the village of Eastwood, Oxford County, and attended school in Woodstock for about eight years. The field of newspaperdom attracted his interest and the ensuing thirty years found him at the helm of the Ingersoll Tribune. In 1905 he migrated with his family to Simcoe, where for several years he conducted the old Norfolk Bookstore, where the Molson's Bank is now located, later moving across the street near the site of his present establishment. Three years' connection with civic affairs as alderman sufficed to promote him to the coveted seat of honor in which he is now completing his second term."
