Notes:
The 1881 Census says John was born in Scotland, but his parents had settled in Windham before he was born. The 1901 Census, 1911 Census, and their cemetery stones report different birth dates for both John and Mary Ann. John's obituary says he was born in Windham Township and lived his entire life there as a farmer. Mary Ann's parents married in 1814 in Shetland Islands, Scotland and immigrated to Port Dover the same year; yet the 1880 Census claims Mary Ann was born in Scotland. Her marriage record says she was born in Townsend Township, where her family settled. Mary Ann moved to Windham Township when she married and lived there the rest of her life.
