Another Old Resident Gone

Mrs. O'Mahony, of Townsend, widow of the late Daniel O'Mahony, J.P., died at her late residence on Saturday last, and was buried in the Simcoe Catholic cemetery on Tuesday of this week.

Rev. Father Nagle said the funeral Requiem high mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary's catholic church here, and many relatives and friends of the deceased were present.

The late Mr. and Mrs. O'Mahony were of pioneer reputation in Townsend and were highly respected. There are thirteen children and many grandchildren of this family.

Besides the grandchildren, the following children were in attendance at the funeral: Mrs. Robert  Brock, Townsend;
Mrs. (Dr.) McGinnis, Wallaceburg; Mrs. W. E. Kelly, Simcoe;
Mrs. Daniel Dwyer, Port Dover; Mrs. Frank Beaton, Bookton;
Cornelius, Jarvis; Daniel, Hamilton; Bertha, Penetanguishene;
Hubert and Grace, at home.

The late Mrs. O'Mahony was a sister of Cornelius Elliott, Woodhouse; and of the late James W. Elliott, of New York City, who at one time practiced law in this county, and will be remembered by many.

The large turn-out of friends and acquaintances at the funeral testified to the respect and esteem in which the deceased was held.

She was a faithful Catholic, and had a happy death, the last rites of the Catholic church were duly administered, and she peacefully departed this life surrounded by her children.

The late Sister Mary Ru[lina] of St. Joseph's convent, London, was another daughter of the deceased. Dr. McGinnis of Wallaceburg and
W. E. Kelly, K. C., of Simcoe, are sons-in-law of the deceased.
