[Compiler's Comments: This stone was erected following World War II by descendants without sufficient access to the surviving historical record. Their inscription (below)  introduced several errors into family lore. The original wooden markers do not survive. No surviving record has been found to suggest Donald was a Lieut. in any military. He signed his will with an X suggesting he died illiterate, which would have precluded attaining that rank. Nor has any record been found to suggest any middle intial. From private research: Born in Scotland in 1735, Donald died in Charlotteville, 18 Jun 1819. His wife, Elsie Simpson, was born 18 Aug 1747 and died 17 Mar 1837]
