Frederick Hobson Sergeant Frederick Hobson, V.C.
"Killed in action at Lens, Aug. 15, 1917.  Awarded coveted decoration for his gallant action in holding up single-handed a German attack on an advance post after his comrades had all been killed.  He enlisted in Simcoe's second contingent under Lieut. Walter Forse. Attached to the 29th Batt."
