"The above are the officers of the Second Administrative Battalion that was
stationed at Niagara Falls from November 1864 to April 1865, and to which Simcoe
contributed a company. The commissioned officers from Simcoe who appear above are
Capt. David Tisdale,

Lieut. Charles Matheson
(extreme right, sitting), Ensign D. Walker, later Judge Walker of Winnipeg (third from
