Their daughter, Mary Barbara Scherer (1867-1943) was my great-grandmother. The large family included twins Peter and Valentine, born about 1860.

SMITH -- Seeking information about descendants of James Arthur Smith (1876-1965) of Port Rowan. James was born at Turkey Point. He married Elizabeth A Clark and they had 8 children: Ferris, Mary A., Willard, Wilhelmina, Richard William, Gladys, Frances, and Geraldine Elizabeth. I am grandson of James' brother, Oscar Hughson Smith. My grandfather was a boat builder in Port Stanley. A cousin and I are trying to build a genealogy of our relatives.

SMITH -- Seeking information about James Orla Smith (1819-1897) and his wife Hannah McGraw (born 1822) of Townsend Townshp, Norfolk County who migrated to Genesee County, Michigan after 1854. Their first eight children -- John, Mary Fredrick, William, James, Christopher, Judson, Elizabeth and Dora -- were all born in Townsend. Their next child, Ransom, was born in 1859 in Michigan.

SMITH -- Seeking information about the parents of Townsend farmer Thomas Bernard Smith (1802-1881). Their names were Thomas and Mary Smith and they apparently resided at Burford in present day Brant County. They were 80 and 81 years old while visiting their son when the 1851 Census of taken. Did they have other children? Where are they buried?
