JACKSON -- Seeking information about the parents and siblings of John Jackson, born 1796 in New Brunswick; died 1876 in Charlotteville Township, Norfolk County. John arrived in the Turkey Point area with his father in 1808, and married Thursa Mahala Abbott in 1827. They raised 14 children in a house on the beach at Turkey Point. John and most of his children were fishermen or married to fishermen. His children married into the Ferris, Oakes, Wells, Spain, Helmer, Larose, Staley, Snook, Low, Clark and Morden families. There is a strong possibility of a military connection for Johnís father. Contact: Wayne Jackson, Ottawa [Query posted Jan 2014]
