councillor Jonathan Macklem
John Macklem (1868-1948} was 1912 Deputy Reeve of Windham Township. He married twice; first to Bertie Clement who died age 39 in 1905, and second to Melissa Field (1869-1959). In 1919 John and his wife Melissa lived at R. R. 1, Vanessa, where he farmed Lot 3, Concession 3, Windham. He is buried with his wives and his parents, George Macklem and Margaret Sovereen in Vanessa Cemetery.
