Death of David Erwin

One of Townsend's most prominent farmers in the person of Mr. David Erwin, Villa Nova, died Saturday, July 6, 1912, after two months' illness.

Mr. Erwin lived on the old homestead and had one of the finest farms and buildings in the township. While not active in public affairs, he was a farmer of more than average ability, industrious, and a friend of everybody.

A widow, two boys, four brothers, George William, Robert and Albert, and three sisters, Mrs. Wm. Honey, Mrs. Wm. Somers and Mrs. Aquilla Birdsell, are left to mourn their loss.

The funeral was held from his late residence on Tuesday afternoon and was very largely attended. The service was conducted by his pastor, Rev. Judson Truax, assisted by the Rev. James Wright. Interment took place in Greenwood Cemetery.
