Confirmed 9 Apr 2007 by his daughter, Sylvia Stolberg.

From Raymond: Ward was a pilot in the RCAF before he came to Grade 13 in 1945-46

From Sylvia: Dad attended Simcoe High after completing 30 operations (a tour) as a Lancaster pilot with the RCAF and receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross. After high school he joined British Airways (then called BOAC) as a pilot and moved to England. Later he became a captain, flew 747s and retired at the mandatory age of 55 after a 30 year career with BOAC. He then spent three years flying for Syrian Arab Airlines and returned to Canada with my mother about 12 years ago. He died in 2000.
