Port Rowan

Isaac Saxton, until a few years ago, an old and highly esteemed resident of Port Rowan, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. McCord in Port Burwell, 4 Feb 1921, at the age of 80 years.

Deceased was a son of the late John H. Saxton, and was born in Bayham Township. He came here with his parents when a young lad and lived here through many prosperous years surrounded by genial friends and associates.

By his first wife, Miss Campell, he had a daughter, Edith, at whose home he died. Years subsequent, he married Miss Rachel Davis, a daughter of the late John Davis of this village. One son, C. L. Saxton, jeweller, of this village, followed this union, which was severed a few years later by the death of the mother.

For the past few years Mr. Saxton had made his home with his daughter, Mrs. McCord at Port Burwell, to whose kind care can be attributed much that brightened his declining years.

He was exceptionally active for one of his age and upon his visits here to his son he was greeted heartily by both young and old who had learned to honor and respect him.

The remains were brought here on Saturday and interred in Bayview Cemetery beside loved ones who passed away before. The Rev. J. Marshall of the Baptist Church at Port Burwell, officiated.
