Introduction | Source Documents | Other Sources | Photocopies | Back

A lightly edited partial transcription of the Port Rowan column on page 5 of the 15 Jul 1920 issue of the Simcoe Reformer newspaper. [Compiler's Comment: this appears to be an obituary for Daniel C. Wardell, who died on the same day in the same place, married to the same woman.]

PORT ROWAN

David [sic] Wardell died at his residence in this village last Friday of Bright's disease, at the age of 58 years.

Deceased was a son of the late Robert Wardell. He was born in the Township of Windham and had always lived in Norfolk County.

He married Miss Theresa Ferris, who survives him, with a grown-up family of three sons and one daughter:
Donly [sic] of Brantford,
Mordwan [sic] of South Walsingham, and
Richard and Altka at home.

The family moved to this village about two years ago, where they have since resided.

The funeral was held from the home on Monday, conducted by the Rev. W. H. Smith, rector of St. John's Church. Interment took place in Bayview Cemetery.
