Former Simcoe Woman Dies of Burns and Injuries

After several hours of intense suffering, Mrs. Henry Taylor of Mount Elgin, formerly of Simcoe, died on Saturday morning from injuries and burns received Friday night.

While carrying a lighted lamp about 9 o'clock Friday evening, Mrs. Taylor fell through an open trap door into the cellar. Fire followed, destroying the stairway, and Mr. Taylor and son Bruce had great difficulty in getting her away from the ill-fated place.

Her injuries and burns were so terrible, however, that death ensued in a few hours. Both Mr. Taylor and Bruce Taylor were painfully burned.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Taylor is survived by three sons. Before going to Mount Elgin, the family lived near Atherton for a time.
