H. B. Smith dies at Chatham

Chatham -- 25 Sep 1920 -- Henry B. Smith, one of the most prominent financiers in the State of Michigan, died this morning at the home of his soon, Hubert S. Smith.

Mr. Smith came to Chatham to attend a meeting of the directors of the Dominion Sugar Company, of which institution he has been the president for the past six years.

Arriving at the Garner House on Wednesday evening he was seized with a stroke of paralysis while at dinner, and he was later removed to the home of his son.

He was 72 years of age and was born in Walsingham, Norfolk County, and at the time of his death was a resident of Bay City, Michigan.

He is survived by his widow and five sons. The remains will be taken to Bay City and the funeral will be held on Monday.
