T. R. Slaght Dies at Simcoe

Simcoe -- Jan. 3 -- Thomas Rollo Slaght, K.C., for the past 21 years County Crown Attorney of Norfolk, died here at daybreak this 
morning, aged 65 years.

More than a year ago he suffered a serious illness, followed by an operation, and since then had been in poor health,  although he was able to attend to his business until a month ago.

He succeeded his former partner, John H. Ansley as Crown Attorney 
in 1901. He is survived by his wife, formerly Miss Florence Wilson, 
and by two sons, Arthur G. of Toronto, and Roy of Haileybury.

Mr. Slaght was a Liberal and for many years was connected with 
Trinity Anglican Church, Simcoe, holding office as Warden. 
His father, Elder Slaght, was fr a great many years one of the best known Baptist  preachers in the district, and belonged to an 
United Empire Loyalist family.

In early life Mr. Slaght was a civil engineer, but had been 
connected with the legal profession since the 1870s.
