Port Rowan

The death of Mrs. Joseph Russell occurred on Thursday night last, and although anticipated, it proved a great  shock to her family and friends.

Mrs. Russell had been ailing for about two years, and about a month ago underwent an operation in the hospital in Toronto. It was found that nothing could be done to save her life, and returning home, she painfully lingered until she finally passed away as stated.

The deceased was born in Walsingham and was 51 years old. Her maiden name was Louise Brisseau, a daughter of the late Sylvester Brisseau.

She leaves a husband, two sons and four daughters to mourn her departure. The sons are Lundy of Chicago
and [Crellen] at home. The daughters are Myrtle,
Mrs. O. Myers of South Walsingham, Beatrice,
Mrs. W. Genereu [sic,
Jenereaux] of Port Rowan,
Pearl and Edna at home. Four brothers and four sisters also live to mourn her loss.

The funeral was held on Sunday and interment took place at Port Royal Cemetery. The Rev. Mr. Schofield officiated.

Mrs. Russell was a member of the Methodist church, and was very highly respected by every person who knew her. The family, especially the two young daughters, have the deepest sympathy of the whole community.
