Mary Ellen Owen

Following a long illness, Mary Ellen Owen of Bay City, Michigan, widow of the late Captain James L. Owen of Cleveland, passed away peacefully to rest at Venice, California on 19 Jul 1928. It will be remembered that she was accompanied by her sister, Mrs. Jonathan Porter of Simcoe, to Southern California last January, where she was sustained for some time by the more favorable climate.

The deceased was the second daughter of James Cutting, Sr., early residents of this district, and she was born at Port Ryerse, 70 years ago. She leaves two brothers and two sisters: W. R. Cutting, of Simcoe, and James H. Cutting, now in Glendale, Calif., Mrs. George Brown, also of Glendale, Calif., and Mrs. Porter of Simcoe. Mrs. (Dr.) Adams of Bay City, Mich. is a daughter.

The funeral was conducted at the Little Church of the Flowers in beautiful Forest Lawn Memorial Park, at Glendale, Calif.
