Obituary

The death of Sarah N. Couke, widow of the late J. H. Couke, took place in London at her late residence on 26 May 1921. Deceased was in her 76th year.

She was the daughter of the late John and Mary Ann Nelles and was born in Townsend on 16 Mar 1846. On 21 Sep 1869 she was united in marriage to John Henry Couke of West Zorra, the union being blessed with seven children, four of which predeceased her. She survived her husband by 36 years.

Early in life she united with the Wesleyan Methodist Church and remained through life an ardent and devout follower of Jesus Christ. In her last years she was connected with the Hale St. Methodist Church, London.

Her early in married life was spent at Byron, five miles west of London, but after her husband's death she settled in Oakland. About eight years ago she moved to London and resided there until her death.

She is survived by one son and two daughters: D. H. Couke of London, Mrs. E. C. Bradt of London, and Mrs. A. E. Young of Wilsonville; also two brothers and three sisters: Samuel B. Nelles and D. R. Nelles of Wilsonville, Mrs. Peter Wilson of Wilsonville, Mrs. Chas. Vivian of Oakland, and Mrs. Chas. Kitchen of Waterford.
