A Wedding Surprise

Residents of Waterford had a real surprise last Wednesday night when they learned of the marriage of Rev. J. B. Moore of this place and
Mrs. Jennie Gray of Hamilton.

Even the officiating minister, Rev. J. D. MacLachlan, B.A., received the surprise of his life. He was asked by the Elder to come to the latter's home to assist at a wedding. The Elder escorted the bride into the room and asked Rev. J. D. to go ahead.

A bible class social was being held at the home of Mr. Bert Stanford that evening, and when the news spread over there, they all took their baskets and proceeded to the Elder's where a most pleasant social evening was spent.

On Thursday night about 40 kids presented the Elder with a typical old time charvari. The Elder presented them with a broom stick first, followed by a generous donation and he was pronounced by the kids to be the best fellow in town. About 11 o'clock another bunch held a charavi.

The many friends of the bride and groom have showered them with congratulations. The bride is well-known here, having been a resident for several years.
