Waterford

One of those very pleasing events in life that few live to enjoy, was celebrated at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wiederick [sic] on Christmas Day. The occasion was the 50th anniversary of Mrs. Weiderick's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Misner [sic] of Tyrrell.

The celebration was of more than ordinary interest, for 50 years ago, when Mr. and Mrs. Misner were married, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Jackson of Simcoe were also united in marriage at the same time and place. Mrs. Jackson died last summer, but Mr. Jackson was present at the golden wedding celebration.

Another interesting feature of the occasion is that about two years ago Mr. and Mrs. Misner attended the golden wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Lefler of Waterford, and Mr. and Mrs. Lefler were able to be present Christmas Day.

Others who were present were:
Mr. and Mrs. Morris Evans and daughter Lena,
Mr. and Mrs. Harry W. Langs and daughter Lillian of Yarmouth Centre,
Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Murtland,
Mr. and Mrs. John Walters and daughter Lila,
Rev. J. B. Moore of Waterford,
Mr. and Mrs. Dudley Snively of Townsend,
Frank Misner, a brother of Mrs. Weiderick.

A very fine Christmas dinner was served, followed by appropriate speeches by Rev. J. B. Moore, Hugh Misner, E. Jackson and Frank Misner [sic], interspersed with vocal and instrumental music by Miss Lila Watts. The wedding gifts were numerous and costly. Many friends sent letters of regret at being unable to be present, and extending hearty congratulations to the bride and groom.
