A lightly edited partial transcription of the Waterford column on page 6 of the 9 Dec 1920 issue of the Simcoe Reformer newspaper.

WATERFORD

There passed away in Waterford on Saturday, 27 Nov 1920, at the advanced age of 80 years, Mrs. Sarah Matthews. Deceased was born in Burford, but lived in Waterford most of her life.

The funeral took place 30 Nov 1920 at 2.00 o'clock p.m. Service was conducted by Rev. J. D. McLachlan. Interment took place in Greenwood Cemetery.

Those who survive are a son Fred, a sister Mrs. John Miles, and two brothers, 
N. W. Beam of Waterford, and James Beam of Lansing, Michigan, all of whom attended the funeral.

Others from a distance attending were:
Mrs. C. Beam of St. Thomas;
Robt. Leach, a nephew, and daughter, 
Mrs. F. Deacon of Kingsville;
and Mrs. D. T. Bailey of Lansing.

To these and other sorrowing relatives is extended the sympathy of their many friends.
