Popularity of J. P. Mabee
Toronto Telegram

Western Canadians tell how the courteous, unassuming common sense and fair play of J. P. Mabee here filled the prairie shacks with his fame.

Saskatchewan hears how a lone settler comes down to Regina with his grievance against the Canadian Northern, half expecting to be laughed down by the smartness of the railway lawyers.

But J. P. Mabee encourages the man to tell his story. The lone farmer is heard as respectfully as the most learned counsel who appears before the commission. The chairman gets at the roots and the rights of his grievance, and makes an order accordingly.

Hon.J. P. Mabee is building up an enormous popularity in all poarts of Canada by simple process of being courteous to all comers and trying to ddo the right thing by everyone. And the dignitary who is popular with the masses because he protects them who they are right is at least as useful to the country as the dignitary who is popular with the masses because he protects them when they are wrong.
