ALBERT EDWARD EVANS

The sudden death of Mr. Albert Edward Evans of Hamilton, formerly of Simcoe and Haldimand county, was learned with regret early this week by his many friends.

A native of Haldimand, he was a farmer for a number of years, and came to Simcoe more than 20 years ago. He made his home on John street, and later built the house now occupied by Mr. Ashton Somers.

He became a real estate dealer, and one purchase made by him was the big Tillson mansion in Tillsonburg. For some years past he has been a resident of Hamilton, but paid many visits each year to Simcoe.

Deceased married Miss Edsall of Haldimand county, who survives. To them were born two daughters, Ethel, Mrs. John Davis, and Percie, both of whom have been dead for some years, and one son, Harvey G. Evans of Simcoe.

The funeral was held on Tuesday at the family home, 99 Cannon street, Hamilton, with Rev. S. Burnside Russell of Wesley United church officiating. Upon the arrival of the cortege in Simcoe, Rev. Harley C. Newcombe of Simcoe conducted the service at the grave in the family plot, Oakwood cemetery.

The bearers were friends from Hamilton, Simcoe, and Haldimand county: Bruce W. Whitside, Edward Marsaw, Hugh Baxter, John Henning, Wallace Cooper and
Robert McCarter.

Many friends and relatives attended the obsequies, and a good many floral tokens were sent in recognition of the high place he had occupied in the esteem of many friends and relatives.
