Death of Mrs. Ede

On Sunday, 31 Oct 1920, Helen Gertrude Ede, relict of David Ede, passed peacefully away at the home of her son, Mr. B. B. Baillie, Norfolk Street North, Simcoe,
with whom she had been living for the past year.

Deceased was in her 92nd year, and up to a year ago, when she suffered a stroke, had been a wonderfully
smart woman.

The late Mrs. Ede was born in England and came to Canada at the age of six. The whole of her life, with
the exception of the past four years, had been spent
in Oxford County.

She was the last of a family of 13 children, the youngest of whom died about 10 years ago, and outlived a generation by nearly 20 years. She was twice married. Her first husband predeceased her about 50 years ago, and her second some 40 years ago.

A kindly woman was Mrs. Ede, with a tender heart for all. She was a faithful and regular attendant of the Methodist Church and took a warm interest in all its branches.

One son and two daughters are left to mourn the loss of a loving and devoted mother:
Alderman B. B. Baillie of Simcoe,
Mrs. Cleveland of Regina, and
Mrs. Midgley of San Diego, California.

The funeral (private) took place on Tuesday afternoon at 2.30 o'clock to Oakwood Cemetery, and was conducted by Rev. D. A. Moir of St. James Methodist Church, and Rev. McBain of Kitchener, a former pastor. The pall-bearers were Messrs. H. F. Cook, Henry Johnson, R. Spears,
R. Edmonds, Frank Jackson and Charles Brookfield.
