Wedding Delayed for Years
(Ann Arbor, Michigan Times)

Miss Mary Vedele of Saline and John H. Butler of Simcoe, Ontario, Canada, were quietly married in Windsor, Canada, Tuesday evening.

The marriage was the culmination of a romance which started in Saline when both parties were young, which was interrupted by a long period of years, to be renewed but recently, when both had passed the prime of their lives.

Many years ago young Butler left Saline and later there came an estrangement. Correspondence ceased, and in time Mr. Butler wooed and married Miss M. J. Catherwood. To them were born three daughters and two sons. Both sons enlisted in the late war, the youngest giving his life for the great cause. Later the mother died.

Recently, Mr. Butler, who is now a prosperous photographer in Simcoe, visited Saline and called on Miss Vedele, who had never been forgotten by him, and the renewed acquaintanceship swiftly drifted into a renewed affection. Last Thursday evening the long-deferred marriage took place.
