Medal for Delhi Hero

Delhi, 28 Apr 1910 -- At great risk to his own life, last October William A. Buck, a well-known baseball player, rescued from drowning Miss Dalton, daughter of Mr. S. Dalton, and last night the Royal Canadian Humane Society recognized his act of heroism by presenting him with a bronze medal. P. C. L. Harris of the Toronto Humane Society made the presentation before a very large gathering.

Miss Dalton was out boating with Miss Julia Wilson and Arthur Wilson, when their boat upset near Quance's damn. Miss Wilson was saved by her little brother, and Miss Dalton's cries for help were heard by Buck, who lives near the river. Hurling himself over a steep embankment into the water, he reached Miss Dalton just in time to save her from drowning. Both were nearly exhausted when they reached shore.
