Simcoe High School

The High School closed on Tuesday. The closing exercises were in charge of the Literary Society and consisted of a debate, a piano solo, reading and The Mirror, the school paper. This number was one of the best ever read before the society.

The chairman of the Board of Education, H. P. Innes, K.C., and Trustees W. E. Kelly and D. F. Aiken, were visitors and each gave a short, practical address to the pupils, and assisted in the presentation of graduation diplomas. The recipients of these diplomas were as follows:

Honors Matriculation and First Class Teacher:
Edna Andrews.

Normal Entrance and Matriculation:
Rita Cline, Bruce Gehard, Enid Froud, B. Quance,
Ida Newcombe, Lillian Pamplin, Francis Reid,
Dorothy Smythe.

Normal Entrance:
T. Boles, John Brookfield, Harvey Hutchison, Fern Hyde, Van Waffle, Geo. Williams, Alice Vail, Vera Hunter.

At the conclusion of his speech, the chairman announced that the school would close on Tuesday and not open until Tuesday, 4 Jan 1921. Needless to say this announcement was received with rapturous applause.
