FORMER SIMCOE LADY BURIED
Mrs. John Horton died Thursday Last 
at Windsor

There died at Windsor on Thursday, July 15, in the 74th year of her age, a well-known former Simcoe lady in the person of Mrs. John Horton, mother of Mrs. H. W. Pursel, of the Melborne Hotel.

The late Mrs. Horton was born on September 4, 1841, in Hamilton, her maiden name being Charlotte Elizabeth Wright.

When she was twelve years of age her parents moved to Norfolk County and settled near St. Williams

 She was married in 1861 to the late John Horton, who then conducted a grist mill on the old Front road. Later they moved to Simcoe, where her husband conducted a bakery and soda water works for a number of years.

About sixteen years ago they moved to Windsor, where Mr. Horton died about six years ago.

Mrs. Horton's funeral was held on Sunday, July 18, on the arrival of the 2:20 Wabash train, to Oakwood cemetery., the service at the grave being conducted by Rev. A. B. Farney.

The deceased leaves to mourn her loss three sons and two daughters. The sons are: Lewis of Detroit; and Arthur and Allan of Windsor. The daughters are: Mrs. Walter Lambert of Windsor, and Mrs. H. W. Pursel, Simcoe.
