The Late Israel Woodley

Israel Woodley was born Dec. 10th, 1824, in Boston, Norfolk County, Ont., was married to Mary Ann Cole, Dec. 1851, and had eight children, six sons and two daughters, W. H. Woodley, Mrs. C. F. Hazelton, B. R. Woodley, Jas. I. P. Woodley, Walter L. Woodley, J. Franklin Woodley, Mary E. Woodley, and E. Clark Woodley, who are all alive today except J. Franklin Woodley, who was killed at the Yore opera house fire, Sept. 5, 1896.

On May 2, 1870 Israel Woodley landed in this town, bought 80 acres of timberland which he and his family went to work to clear up and make a home.

In June 28, 1872, his wife died and he married Mrs. Eva Monroe, of St. Thomas, Ont., April 1877. She died December 1881.

In 1883 he married Mrs. Martha Robinson at Waterford, Ont., whom he leaves to mourn her loss. -- Benton Harbor, Mich. News.
