Death of Geo. Woodley

The sad news reached this place on Monday of the death of Mr. Geo. Woodley, of pneumonia, at Ontario, Cal.

The news came as a shock to Mr. Woodley's many friends in this place and vicinity.

A short time ago he sold his farm stock, implements, and household goods and he and Mrs. Woodley left for California, to spend a few months and almost the first news received from there is of his death.

At time of going to press no further word has been received, but it is thought Mr. Woodley's remains will be brought to this place for burial.

The Late George Woodley

A copy of the Ontario, Cal. Record, of Jan. 22nd, contains the following:--

Mr. George Woodley died Saturday evening at the home of his brother-in-law, W. J. Horne, on Mountain avenue and Seventh street.

Mr. and Mrs. Woodley arrived in Ontario about one week ago on a nine mouths' pleasure trip and he contracted the grip, which rapidly merged into pneumonia, defying the best medical skill.

Mr. and Mrs. Woodley's home is in Waterford, Ontario, Canada West, where they have two married daughters, and a son, A. C. Woodley, M.D., at Jamestown, N.Y.

The funeral services will take place at the residence of his brother-in-law, W. J. Horne, Thursday next at 2 p.m. and 30 days later Mrs. Woodley will return east with the body.
