Jacob Winegarden

Jacob Winegarden, of Vanessa, formerly of Simcoe, passed away Friday, March 10, 1939, in his 88th year. Deceased had been ailing for several months. He was born near Teeterville, a son of the late Peter Winegarden and Mehitable Thomas. He married the former Margaret Ann Taylor, also of Teeterville, who predeceased him thirteen years ago.

Surviving are two daughters: Mrs. Wyatt Whitehead of Vanessa and Miss Hettie Winegarden of Buffalo, N.Y.; three sons, Charles of Niagara Falls, Ont., Thomas of Detroit, Mich., and Robert E., of Buffalo, N.Y.; also thirteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. One sister, Mrs. Frank Brown of Waterford, also survives. Two sons, John of Simcoe and William of Buffalo, N.Y., predeceased him some years ago.

The funeral was held from the home of his daughter, Mrs. Wyatt Whitehead, on Monday, March 13, at two o'clock and was conducted by the Rev. Wray Davidson of Tillsonburg, formerly of Simcoe, a friend of the family and the Rev. Hartley Watt of Vanessa.
