Joseph W. Winchell

A resident of Simcoe for the past four years, Joseph William Winchell passed away at his home, 86 Brock Street, on Friday, in his 77th year.

Mr. Winchell has been in failing health for some time but had been confined to bed for only a week prior to his death.

Born in Woodhouse Gore, deceased was a son of the late William Winchell and Ann Elizabeth Stapleton.

He farmed near Norwich for many years, retiring and moving to Simcoe four years old. He was a member of the Baptist Church.

His first wife, formerly Nettie Burgar, predeceased him 18 years ago.

Besides his wife, the former Mary Eliza Vail, he is survived by a half-brother, Fred Wyckoff of Norwich.

Mr. Winchell rested at his late residence until this morning. The funeral service being held at the Walsh Funeral Home this afternoon at 2;30 o'clock. Rev. Gordon V. Crofoot of First Baptist Church, is in charge of the service. Interment is being made in Oakwood Cemetery.
