A lightly edited partial transcription of the Items of Local Interest column on page 7 of the
20 Nov 1919 issue of the Simcoe Reformer newspaper.

From the West Winfield (N.Y.) Star:

The remains of Mrs. Emma C. Day, who died at Simcoe, Ontario, Canada, 8 Nov 1919, were brought to this village on Tuesday of this week and laid to west in the West Winfield Cemetery by the side of her husband, the late Dr. Albert H. Day, who died several years ago.

Dr. Day will be remembered by a host of older residents and the demise now of his estimable wife brings back memories of happy days gone by when they both lived here and were congenial spirits about the village.

Mrs. Day was a great worker in the Congregational Church, took an active part in all its junctions, and was ever true to all its interests. Hers was a noble Christian character and those who knew her intimately soke of her beautiful life with the greatest reverence.

She went to Simcoe about three years ago. She was 69 years of age, and a cousin of Mr. D. J. Wyckoff, and his son accompanied the remains here.
