The Late Mrs. John Wilbur

Delhi, June 15 -- The death occurred at an early hour on Monday morning, June 14 of Mrs. John Wilbur, in her 89th year.

Deceased was the daughter of Joseph and Rachel Youngs, who owned and lived on the farm on which part of Hamilton now stands.

She spent her girlhood days in Glanford, and at the age of nineteen was married to John Wilbur, and immediately after their marriage they moved to their farm near Delhi, where they resided to within a few years of her husband's death, which occurred fourteen years ago.

Deceased was the mother of fourteen children, of whom nine survive, viz.: Henry of Delhi; Elijah of Detroit; John of Saskatchewan; Arthur of Delhi; Mrs. O. Craven and Mrs. D. Smith of Delhi; Mrs. Mary Sherdan of New York; Mrs. George Symons [sic] of Saskatchewan; and Mrs. Bert McCall of Bluevale.

Deceased was a life-long member of the Methodist church, and gave at all times a willing hand to any work that tended to uplift the moral tone of the community. Always of a cheerful disposition, she had a wide circle of friends, who will sincerely mourn her departure. 

Interment will take place on Wednesday afternoon, after which the funeral service will be conducted in the Methodist church by Rev. N. Argyle Hurlbut.
