Harry Weston dies after long illness

The death occurred in Simcoe on Tuesday, December 26th, following an illness of several weeks of Henry (Harry) Albert Weston, better known as "Deac" Weston in his 67th year.

He was one of Simcoe's highly esteemed citizens and was for many years engaged in concrete pavement work, being proprietor of the Maple Leaf Paving Company which laid the bulk of Simcoe's sidewalks as well as those in many other municipalities.

Mr. Weston was born in Simcoe on February 26, 1867 and was the youngest son of the late Richard W. and Elizabeth Weston.

He was a lifelong resident of Simcoe, a member of Simcoe Lodge No. 161, I.O.O.F. and of Norfolk Lodge No 10, A.F. and A.M., as well as a member of St. James United Church.

Besides his wife, Pearl, who was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Howey of Waterford, one son Roy, and one daughter Eleanor, survive, along with a stepdaughter, Miss Helen Grass at home and a stepson, William Grass also of Simcoe. Two sisters also remain, Miss E. J. Weston, Simcoe, and Mrs. O. W. Scott, Vittoria.

The funeral was conducted from the family residence, 92 Head St., Simcoe, on Friday, December 29th at 2.30 pm. with Rev. G. K. Bradshaw officiating. Interment was made in Oakwood Cemetery, Simcoe.
