FIRE IN VITTORIA

About four o'clock on Saturday afternoon a fire broke out in the tinshop and residence occupied by Mr. Frank Dunkin, and the building was entirely consumed. The contents were partly insured.

The Lecture Room adjoining was damaged to the extent of $2000, but was saved from entire destruction by the exertions of the villagers.

The burned building belonged to the estate of the late Peter E. Young, Esq., and was insured for $500. Mr. Dunkin had an insurance of $800 on stock. The loss on the Lecture Room was fully covered by insurance.

The fire is supposed to have originated from spontaneous combustion among a quantity of rags stored in the tinshop.
