OBITUARY

Ephriam [sic] Tisdale, who passed away at Glanford, on Oct. 1st, in his 86th year, was a one time highly respected resident of North Walsingham.

He belonged to an old Norfolk family, being a son of the late Ephriam [sic] Tisdale, one of the early pioneers of Norfolk County, and a nephew of the late Col. David Tisdale.

He had spent most of his life on the old homestead in North Walsingham, having moved to Glanford, near Hamilton, just ten years ago, with his wife and family.

He had always taken a keen interest in the municipal affairs of his township, being for many years councillor [sic] and twice reeve of North Walsingham.

In politics, he was a staunch Conservative and in religion a member of the Presbyterian Church.

He was a man ever ready to give a helping hand to his fellow men and his genial, kindly disposition won for him a host of friends, who deeply regret his passing.

He leaves to mourn his loss a widow (formerly Ada McEown of Lynedoch) three daughters, Mrs. Reginald Freeman, Woodstock, Mrs. Wm. Mason, Tyrrell, Mrs. Walter Niece, Dunnville, and two sons, Stanley and Ralph of Glanford, also two brothers, Dr. Walter Tisdale of Simcoe and Edwin of Winnipeg.

[Compiler's Comment: Deceased was Ephraim Tisdale VI, his father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and two previous ancestors were also Ephraim Tisdale.]
