Death of Mrs. Gee

Mrs. Jane Gee, aged seventy-four years, on of the pioneers of Middleton township, died on Wednesday, March 16th. She had been in poor health for some time, but her death was unexpected.

Mrs. Gee was the fourth daughter of Jasper and Annie Taylor, who came from England in 1842 and settled in Forestville. She married the late Charles W. Gee in 1856 and they settled on the farm where she died, which was then an unbroken wilderness.

Her husband predeceased her eleven years. The children who survive are: Ira, of Tillsonburg; Jasper, of the State of Washington; Charles, who resides on the homestead; Mrs. Jerome, of Chicago; Mrs. R. Harris, of Norwich; Mrs. A. Cameron, of Walsingham, and Lily, at home.

The funeral took place on Friday, the service being conducted by the Rev. Thomas Voaden, of Courtland. The interment was made in Evergreen Cemetery at Lynedoch.

The pallbearers were: Messrs: W. Charlton, H. Birdsall, H. Wallace, J. Wittett, L. Doan and R. Marsland.
