Succumbs to Heart Disease

A copy of last Friday's Review, of Evart, Mich., has been sent to us. It contains the following reference to the passing of Dr. Frank S. Sovereen, son of Samuel Sovereen, a former well known resident of Windham Township. The Review says: --

"Another old citizen passed away early Sunday morning, October 4. Although not unexpected, the death of Dr. Frank S. Sovereen cast a shadow of regret over this community where he had been a familiar figure during more than a third of a century, a beloved physician, and well respected resident. The cause of death was heart trouble.

"Dr. F. S. Sovereen was born in Simcoe, Ontario, Canada, Sept. 12, 1853, and died in Evart, Michigan, October 4, 1914, aged 61 years, 22 days.

Dr. Sovereen lived in Canada about 24 years and since 1881 has been a resident of Evart, Michigan. The doctor was graduated from the Homeopathic medical college of New York in 1881; since which time he has practiced medicine.

He was the ninth of eleven children, eight girls and three boys and is survived by one of the family, a brother, Charles Sovereen of Simcoe. In 1881 he was married to Emma O'Heron of Canada, in Buffalo, N.Y. After a happy married life of thirteen years he lost by death his wife who passed away April 10, 1894.

In 1896 he married Harriet Spinney of Reed City. To them were born three children, Lucile, who died ten years since when but seven years of age, Ernestine and Eveline.
