Wedding
Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Somers, of
Waterford, celebrated their golden wedding on Monday, Nov. 24th.
Guests to the number of over forty were present.
All of the children
were also present. They are: Mr. Frank Somers, Rockford; Mrs. Wm.
Swanton, Villa Nova; Mrs. Lottie Bauslaugh, Waterford; Dr. W. E.
Somers, Foam Lake, Sask.
Mrs. Ellen Toms, sister of Mrs. Somers, was
also a bride of 50 years ago and was married at the same time and
place. Her husband died 16 years ago.
Mr. Somers was born in
Darlington, Ont., on Sept. 14th, 1838, and has lived nearly all his
life in Townsend and Waterford. His wife, Martha Ann Massecar, was
born at Rockford on Sept. 23rd, 1840. They were married in Townsend on
Nov. 24th 1863.
